Quiet morning in the sunny suburbs. KitKit on her latest adventure. I ran out of daylight to get a good picture will post better ones today.
I usually have a pile of little paintings that I start and do not finish. Usually they get primed and painted over. Every once in a while I will try to "resusitate", such as this one.
Is it possible to cling on to Summer yet still be excited about Autumn approaching? This time of year is bittersweet to me, only because I am not fond of Winter being so long. So as much as I can't wait for Autumn it is always too short and launches into Winter before anyone is ready.
This little painting is from a day last weekend when my husband and I were out driving from one errand to another. The sky was so beautiful and engaging.
Quiet Monday, at least for the next hour. The bird of Indiana is the cardinal. The female's colors are much more muted than the fiercely red male. This original painting and Prints are available.
As the ground goes to rest cold winds arrive. Happy Halloween! The day is beginning with cold rain and the leaves are falling. I don't remember many trick or treating nights that it wasn't! 🎃
I adore owls. We are fortunate to live in the woods and hear them often. We are in a busy area so I am grateful they still call this little woods their home. This seemed fitting with Halloween tomorrow.
Fall skies can be so dramatic and never boring. Colder winds are blowing in. The landscape is transforming day to day. Thoughts of the winter season are starting to seep in. Firewood, wool socks, extra blankets, winter recipes...
I painted this mid September and forgot to post it. The fields are changing colors quickly.
What a fun busy weekend. Yard clean up, Fall Apple festival, movie with friends, church. Spent time with our older kids too which is so nice since everyone is so busy it is harder to all be together at once. We wrapped up the weekend with a night swim. Summer is not over yet!
I love this size of painting. They fit anywhere. I tuck them in among book shelves or plate shelves with the groove thingy or on a little 6 inch easel. No frame necessary. The feathers on this little fella in the sunshine, oh my.
The fine art festival, Renaissance in Roanoke was amazing yesterday. We started out with a very chilly morning but thankfully it turned into a warmer sunny day.
My art booth won Best in Show! I can't thank my husband enough for all the hard work these past couple weeks helping me build all the displays.
I won Second Place at the Plein Air Event! What a thrilling day. I met so many nice people. Thank you to friends and family that stopped by. I am exhausted today but so happy for such a lovely, inspiring day.
