Lake Landscape Figures Sunset Daily Painting

sold
"Sunset Swim at Lincoln Lake" 6"x6" oil on masonite. We walked down to the beach at Lincoln State Park and it was so inviting we decided to go get our swimsuits and take a dip before sunset. Would you believe we saw a man walking a pig, on a leash!? Our two year old yelled pig and pointed, I thought no way, that must be a dog. Sure enough it was a pig and a pet, it wasn't a pot belly pig, just a regular, pink pig named Wilber. Very curious.

Contemporary Landscape Rowboat Lincoln Lake Daily Painting

6"x6" oil on primed masonite. "Rowboat at Sunset" We took the kids to Holiday World this week and camped at Lincoln State Park. It was our first time camping there. What a lovely park. We went for a swim at the beach. I couldn't believe how clear the lake was. I also couldn't stop thinking of all the beautiful things to paint. The lily pads, the boathouse, the pier...wow, I am going to be busy.

Landscape Figures Tubing Sugar Creek Original Oil Painting

Sold

"Tubing down Sugar Creek" 6"x6" oil on primed masonite.
One of my favorite pastimes with the family. A canoe livery drops you off 2 1/2 miles upstream with a tube and you float along for 2+ hours, seeing sandstone cliffs, covered bridges, skip stones and have a picnic. Bringing an extra tube for the cooler is a must!

Twilight Contemporary Impressionism Sunset Lake Landscape Daily oil Painting

sold

"Glimpse of Sunset" 6"x6" oil on primed masonite. I am happy with the simple impressionistic brushstrokes of this painting. Sometimes it is too easy to stray from my original plan to keep it simple and not overwork what I want to say.

Seagulls Lake Landscape Original Daily Oil Painting

                                                                               sold

"Seagulls at the Lake" 6"x6" oil on primed masonite. I have said many times on this blog, that I LOVE the ocean and its beaches. Especially the Gulf Coast, which weighs heavy on our minds right now. We visit there every year and I can't even fathom how much time will be needed to heal that area. The ocean inspires writers, poets, painters, vacationers, I could go on and on.
On a lighter note, being a landlocked Indiana girl it is nice to see the seagulls on the lakes around here, far away from their cousins at the ocean. The silvery white gulls against the dark trees were an inspiration for me to paint today. (I know, today, I painted, can you believe it?! For those who have been visiting only to find "tumbleweeds", Thank You for your warm thoughts and encouraging words.

Kettle Corn Apple Festival Daily Oil Painting Autumn

"Handmade Kettle Corn" (prev. post 2007) 6"x6" oil on primed masonite.

What an amazing process to watch. Huge kettles of popcorn being stirred over an open fire. The men wore cowboy hats, handkerchiefs and overalls. The boy scouts set this up every year at our local Johnny Appleseed Festival

Jazz in the Park Original Oil Painting

"Summer Jazz" 6"x6" oil on primed masonite, previously posted in 2007.

Hello, yes I am still here :) It has been very long since I have posted. I have missed painting, posting and hearing from you! Summer has been so busy. All is well with me and the family. The kids are growing so fast. Can you believe my youngest is now two?! My oldest is driving?! Needless to say I have not been painting much these days. I am getting closer to being able to do so. The kids summer break from school is so short, I have decided to make the best of it with the dog days of summer. We have been very busy relaxing and enjoying summer things. I feel like a kid again and will be ready to paint in a few short weeks. Please check back there may be a few surprise paintings here and there.
I hope you are having a great summer and are stopping to smell the wildflowers and sticking your feet in a kiddie pool at least! We already hear the cicadas here.
