This landscape reminds me of our family trip out West a few years ago.  The cool thing is this unique formation is much closer to home.  A silhouette of  limestone quarry against the setting sun.  Being an active quarry the landscape is still changing every day.

I have painted this beach full of people but I got up early and captured a quiet groomed beach ready for visitors.

Summertime means festivals and fairs.  The smaller the town the more charming the fair.  Here, night was falling and all the lights of the street fair glowing.  This is small town Americana.

Best. Dad. Ever.  We live in the woods on a glacial ridge.  Not the most conducive for a pool.  My dear husband scouted out the best possible spot in the yard.  He came home from Rural King with a big box of the best joy and 8 year boy could dream of for summer vacation.   Did I mention he did this on Father's  Day weekend?  

We had a storm roll through last night that knocked out the power all day.  No better place to spend a hot, soupy day.

I was out watering my garden in the peace of early morning.  Bees were buzzing in the hostas that are in full bloom by my he garden shed.  I am so glad I had my cell phone.  I snapped a ton of pics in hope to get at least on clear one of the bees in flight.  I was so excited for my inspiration for the studio later in the day.  I would like to colored this subject further.

I must be watching too many episodes of the X-Files on Netflix with my daughter.   Because this painting looks like it is somewhere out West near Roswell or even another world.  Dusk is becoming one of my favorite times to paint.  You can find that I have posted quite a few in the last month or so.  Have a great weekend!

Enjoying the lovely summer weather.   On the truly sweltering days I remind myself how I longed for these days when I was scraping the ice off my car in the dead of winter.  Today is a good day to set out some sun tea and splash in the kiddie pool with my youngest.

Every time I get the pleasure of seeing a VW bus going down the road I can't help but smile and wish I had one.  I am a proud owner of a 1993 V dub Cabriolet  (in excellent shape btw) I am now wanting a New Beetle turbo.  It will be hard to replace my old girl but I think it is time.

I am not an early bird by choice.  As long as I have my coffee I am good to go.  Besides the light from the early sun is always worth it.  Such a peaceful time full of promise for the rest of the day.

I am falling asleep as I type this so I will be short and share some sweet.   Our 1st Grandbaby was born yesterday!   He is so precious and Mom and Dad are doing well.
