This is the view from my kitchen window. For a couple days while I was adjusting to the fact that our fun summer was over, I noticed the little chair in the woods. The sun caught it just right and I was mesmerized by the beauty of light. I was also reminded that the little chair sits around our fire ring where we have bonfires with friends and family. Yes, it was hard this year watching summer end but Autumn is glorious. Now I have to admit seeing the chair covered in snow may not be as welcome but it may make a nice painting ;)
The rainy city at night reminds me of one of my all time favorite movies, Bladerunner. The night mist, the fog and all the lights set up an amazing play on the atmosphere. A very difficult subject to photograph however. So please note the lights and darks of this painting are much richer in person.
I came across this lovely area while hiking along a pasture that is home to elk and bison at a local conservationist's home. The late afternoon sun danced on the edges of every blade, my favorite time of day.
Many communities are embracing their downtown alleyways. They are becoming an inviting place to hang out, enjoy coffee, dine with friends, and shop. Many are adorned with murals from local and international artists.
