Cute as a button, these little sheep are ready for winter. I have painted a few other sheep paintings, so much so from my photo references that I just realized I have almost come full circle and painted some very similar to each other. Maybe it is time I go out and get some new reference matierial :D
I found this image on pixabay.com a copyright free sight that I enjoy visiting every once in a while. Because sometimes you just have to paint something completely different from your surroundings. I squinted and saw shapes, laundry and architecture. Fun, fun, fun.
A mighty climb up from the camp. We were hiking down below the rim and had to hug the side as this team went by. Such an incredible trip. A large scene for such a little painting. Maybe I'll do a larger scale soon.
Inspired by the beauty of stained glass I painted this years ago and every year I paint more than one so that they are available at Christmas time.
They are still individually painted making them vary slightly in brushstroke and color, yet they are originally made with love and devotion to this time of year. Contact me if you would like to purchase a 1 Season rights to print this picture on your Church bulletin or program during Christmas.
Ok, this may sound weird, but it is so true. Painting this one felt like playing an instrument. When you paint often there are some times that are way more joyous than others. The whole process seems to flow without hesitation. This definitely does not happen every time so when it does you just savor the moment and realize even more why you get up and do this every day.
