Midwestern Sky Impressionism Original Art Daily Painting

"Midwestern Sky" A peaceful afternoon in rural Indiana. From the perspective of riding down the country road, it appeared that the soft angle of the clouds seemed to "join in the fun" with the angles of the utility poles and fields.

Autumn Sunset Geese Oil Painting Impressionism Football Fall

sold
"Heading South" Last night at my son's football game we were fortunate to have stadium seats to a gorgeous sunset. The sun was setting behind us casting a warm glow on the clouds in the East. The geese flew across the horizon at what seemed like a slow pace. The game was fun too! It was our son's first time back after breaking his thumb a few weeks ago. He made a great tackle. (in case you were wondering, I didn't paint this on location, I wrestled a toddler in the stands for two hours instead)

John Deere Combine Tractor Harvest Painting Contemporary

sold

"Green & Yellow" It's that time of year. The farmers are busy working long hours to bring in their crops. When driving through the countryside it is common to see a dust cloud then a huge combine on the horizon. I think I need to paint something like this for my Dad for Father's Day...hmm...

Wheat Autumn Harvest Sunset Painting Contemporary Impressionism

"Sea of Pale Gold"
This is what I saw driving home yesterday from a weekend of camping. The lavender sky against the pale yellow fields were so harmonious. God's symphony at work. My humbling interpretation is 6"x6" oil on primed masonite.

"Autumn Hike" While camping this past weekend we did a lot of hiking. This was good because we ate so many goodies. My favorite were the peach pudgie pies over the fire. We went with a couple other families and had a great time. Not too many trees have started to change color yet but I am sure it wont be long. Fall, what a good time of year; football, bonfires, chili, favorite sweatshirts, cooler breezes, home-made chocolate chip cookies...I could go on and on.

Sunset Fields Impressionist Oil Painting

sold
"Sunset Fields"

The fields in fall remind me of a patchwork quilt. The changes in the landscape are so drastic and in such a short period of time. Somedays we get so busy and are too preoccupied with our everyday schedules. Try to make a point to see the changes on your commute today.

Art Chicken Painting Rooster

sold
"Chickens on a Mission" These deep russet colored chickens were sticking together and running in and out of the shadows. They were cracking me up. I kept thinking of the "Mission Impossible" them song while I was painting them.

"Fall Harvest" Whenever I see bales of hay in the fields I think of Shredded Wheat, the cereal. When it snows they look like frosted shredded wheat. I wonder if I am the only one that thinks this...

Twilight Lake Moon Landscape Sunset Painting

"Twilight Lake" The sky seemed so delicate as the last streaks of faded sunlight slipped into the night. All you could hear at this quiet moment was the lake lapping the beach. The moon bobbed on the surface. Then it was time to hike back.

Rooster Chicken Painting "Look Pretty"

sold
"Look Pretty" or should I say handsome. This proud rooster was struttin' his stuff. I was out at my sister-in-laws last weekend for a surprise birthday party. I couldn't help but take many pictures of her chickens and roosters and the children that were fascinated by them. They will give me plenty to work with for more chicken studies. Beach Dunes Figures Children Daily Painting

"Beach Fun" The sand dunes didn't deter these little ones from bringing all their beach toys down to the water. I can still hear the wind, the gulls the little dog and the children's laughter as they made it down the steep hill. 6"x6" oil on primed masonite artboard.
