This was yesterday's morning sky. I loved the drama of overcast sky leaving the area. The sun crested the edge like a mountain top. So cool, and it meant a sunny day was in store.
As we near the end of the year I like to highlight some of my favorites. We haven't had much snow yet but I am looking forward to painting more winter scenes.
Open fields with a light dusting of snow. This piece is larger than my usual posts. I used 2 brushes. A much larger flat brush and a very small brush for a few linear strokes.
I came across this cool picture on Pixabay and tucked it away for future reference. Last week we had our first real snowfall and I couldn't wait to paint this. All those shades of white and the horses, oh my, so lovely. I can just hear the sounds of them pulling that sleigh through the snow!
After a day of painting I am glad I salvaged some of my work. I struggled with a headache all day yesterday and two different paintings were ready to be wiped clean but I left them sit and walked away. This morning I looked at my work with fresh eyes and may have saved one of them.
