Eager Roaming

oil on panel

6x6 inch

2019

Is it possible to cling on to Summer yet still be excited about Autumn approaching?  This time of year is bittersweet to me, only because I am not fond of Winter being so long.  So as much as I can't wait for Autumn it is always too short and launches into Winter before anyone is ready.

This little painting is from a day last weekend when my husband and I were out driving from one errand to another.  The sky was so beautiful and engaging.

I adore owls.  We are fortunate to live in the woods and hear them often. We are in a busy area so I am grateful they still call this little woods their home.    This seemed fitting with Halloween tomorrow.

I love this size of painting.  They fit anywhere.  I tuck them in among book shelves or plate shelves with the groove thingy or on a little 6 inch easel.  No frame necessary.  The feathers on this little fella in the sunshine, oh my.

Tweaking a throwback.  I loved the hot hazy look of this painting but honestly the cows looked like Salvador Dali-esque cow puddles.  After a few brushstrokes to define their lovely hides I am much happier with this little painting.
