Downtown Indy 9x12" Artwork Original Oil Painting Contemporary Impressionism Heidi Malott

sold
Indy - Saturday
9x12" oil on slotted panel
no frame required

detail

Downtown Indy.  Circle Center near the food trucks on Saturday.  I am enjoying painting on a larger scale.  I know I keep saying that lately.  I am running through whatever I have in the studio to paint on.  Time to use what I have laying around.  That and the fact that I need to order the little squares that I usually paint on.

Plein Air Beach Vacation Art Original Oil Painting Heidi Malott

sold

"Ahh"
oil on panel
6x6"

Another very sandy beach painting.  I remember years ago how the sand on the beach would drive me nuts.  Sand everywhere including in your paint  I got used to it and now I don't even think about it.  The warm weather has been good for the soul.   Feeling refreshed and excited to paint on!

Seawall Sunset Spring Break Beach Paintings Heidi Malott

"Seawall Sunset"

6x6" oil on masonite board

After a much needed break from a long cold, snowy winter, I am back in the studio feeling refreshed and ready to paint.  Too much time has passed since I have posted anything online.

This view is from the beach looking up to the sunset behind the seawall.  My camera does not do the yellows justice.  In person, they are a warmer yellow orange.  Thanks for stopping by.  I hope Spring is bringing warmer weather your way!

Beach Umbrella Impressionism Daily Painting Alla Prima

sold

"A Good Place to Be" 6"x6" oil on primed masonite. Not much time to paint today, so I decided to do an alla prima, meaning "all at once" beach scene. This way of painting is one of my favorites, especially during a fleeting moment on the beach. The colors and brushstrokes are fresh and fun. If you ever get a chance, google Peggi Kroll Roberts. I love her fresh, minimalist style.

Orange Beach Umbrella Ocean original daily oil painting

Orange Beach Umbrella

6"x6" oil on primed masonite.

I painted this sitting on the beach in the late afternoon last spring. I came across it the other day and realized I didn't post it. There are bits of sand that blew up and stuck to the paint, which takes me right back to that fun day!
