Much larger than my usual 6x6 daily paintings. A standard size for easy framing. One of my favorite subjects to paint. These magnificent creatures were so beautiful in the shade of the trees and dappled sunlight. I worked and re-worked for quite a while all while trying to keep it fresh. The key to this is to wipe away areas to start fresh rather than painting layer over layer which can become muddy and dull.
