I was so happy to see spring bulbs popping up throughout the neighborhood while out walking the other day. Every winter seems long by the time March rolls along. We have had a few "teaser" days that you must soak up when you can.
"A Good Place to Be" 6"x6" oil on primed masonite. Not much time to paint today, so I decided to do an alla prima, meaning "all at once" beach scene. This way of painting is one of my favorites, especially during a fleeting moment on the beach. The colors and brushstrokes are fresh and fun. If you ever get a chance, google Peggi Kroll Roberts. I love her fresh, minimalist style.
"Sunny Farmhouse" 6"x6" oil on primed masonite art board. The Midwestern sky is ever changing. I love how the setting sun illuminates the side of this old farmhouse.
"Poplars in the Breeze" 6"x6" oil on masonite artboard. Spring is almost here. I painted this in anticipation of the green leaves and grass. This field is about a mile from home
This is a favorite spot for the family. Chain-O-Lakes is just that, a few little lakes connected with channels. A great place for canoeing and fishing. A peaceful place to be. Great hiking too.
