6"x6" oil on primed masonite. While out west, I couldn't believe how much the landscape would change from one mile to another. So much to paint, so little time!
Happy Birthday Heidi, Is this Monument Valley? After being out west it makes you want to take all your vacations out there. Except you spend so much time driving. Did you make it to Sedona and did you go out on that newly built overlook at the Grand Canyon ?
Thank You Ray! This is acutally in the Petrified Forest National Park, after driving through the Painted Desert. Yes, lots of driving. We actually had a couple breakdowns (in our tired rv:)and had to cut a couple stops out of our trip. It was a bummer, but we hope to add them to our next trip someday. We read that it was pretty expensive to go on the glass lookout, we decided just seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time was plenty. We saved our "fun expense" for our Durango/Silverton locomotive trip, which was awesome!!
Happy Birthday Heidi--Your trip out west continues to sound like a great time and your paintings are equally terrific. How did you get the dailypainters logo button on your website. Drop me an email if you have time: coooperdragonette@hotmail.com
Well, happy birthday!! It's also my granddaughter Leah's birthday.
You've really captured the feel of this place. What I always love about your work is the economy of brush strokes. You seem able to get everything said in a dozen or so strokes.
