Cloud Landscape painting a day "Threat of Rain"

"Threat of Rain"

6"x6" oil on primed masonite. I just love these hot sunny days when billowing clouds roll in. It is so dramatic. You can just feel the tension of a storm brewing. Then, surprisingly a sprinkle in the sunshine and they roll on.

  1. Hi Heidi,
This is very beautiful! Your pictures are of those that I can't wait to see in the morning on the DP site. I envy your loose way of painting.

  2. Me too. I look forward every morning to looking at your paintings and they spark something in me to paint directly and soon I will be back to painting every day. Today I got the plyers out and unscrewed some oil tubes and painted over old paintings.

  3. Heidi, I just love this one! I love the tall clouds. They look like Florida clouds to me, though I suppose the north has them too - I just didn't notice it as much when I lived up there. Your painting is wonderful and I'm amazed at your diligence with the "daily" part of it. Nice job!
