Impressionist Poplar Trees Daily Painting Landscape oil
6x6" oil on masonite
"Poplar Sway"
My grandmother's farm is lined by poplars. My grandfather planted them years ago for protection from the harsh winds out of the west, in winter. Here I was inspired from photos and memory of a perfect summer day. The poplar trees all swayed in the breeze. A sweet memory!
It amazes me how the details come together when viewing an impressionist painting from a distance.

Snow Family Portrait watercolor
sold
"Bundled Up" Not much time for painting this week - lots of Christmas shopping and school activites. I did squeeze in some time for watercolor fun. This is from a photo of my husband and kids from a day of sledding. Aren't they cute? It makes me laugh, it looks so cartoony, I should do one of these next year for our Christmas card, hmm... Thanks for looking!

Figure Girl Ballerina daily painting
Sold
6"x6" oil on masonite. I love this creative "anything goes" age! She still, really doesn't care about things that match or are just trendy. So, when I saw her out playing in the sand with this combination outfit of cowboy boots, hat and a ballerina outfit, I was not surprised. I hope she keeps a part of this free spirit always! I kept this painting fresh and unfussy with lively brushwork.

"Sloppy Eggs" still life oil painting Eggs
Sloppy Eggs
6"x6" oil on masonite. Eggs are so pretty "sunny side up" However, I like my eggs cooked a little more than that. Being impatient, I usually flip them early, making them pretty sloppy! Mmm Mmm...so much better, though. I didn't have much time to work on these eggs, but I wanted to at least try and post something for our egg day!! Thanks for looking!
by the way I did sprinkle the painting with real pepper, does that mean this is a mixed media? :D
