From the same theater I painted a couple days ago. A lovely evening at the philharmonic. The dark colors are difficult to capture digitally. They are much richer and full of warm and cool tones. They are not flat black. I don't own a tube of black paint, if you do, throw it away. You will be much happier with your work if you do, trust me. Your paintings will be more harmonious and more relate-able to the viewer. I get my favorite dark tones mixing oranges with blues. Give it a try.
