Thinking of warmer places.  This is one of my favorite places to paint.   I could seriously consider being a beach bum with an easel.  Maybe my retirement plan?

First Snow Winter Impressionism Daily Painting

I could not wait to paint the first snow in the woods.  The sun was setting.  The few lingering leaves of fall "popped" off the blue shadows on the snow.  This contemporary impression has an abstract feel to it in my efforts to capture the moment without getting too detailed in all the trees.

I encourage you to notice how the painting becomes clearer as you step back a few feet rather than closely from your monitor.
