Late Fall Autumn Woods Landscape Original Art

"Late Fall"
6x6 oil on gesso primed masonite

I painted this from a window looking out into the woods.  Too cold for me to be outside.  Hey, I am getting old.  Today's high was 34 F and snow flurries.  This study took a lot of squinting to see all that muted autumn color among many trees.  If you step back a few feet from this painting, all those dabs of color seem to come to life.

  1. It sure does, ... and staying inside would also mean you can get lost,... altho with these kind of paintings it's the whole problem isn't it, ... not getting lost.

Lovely little practice, you old girl, ... :-P
