I really loved applying the rich warm gems of fall color against the grayed down blue-greens of the woods in this painting. My camara can't completely capture the subtle swirls of color mixed right on the painting. This little painting is 6"X6" oil on primed masonite artboard.

6"x6" oil on primed masonite artboard. "Subtle Skies" That is what I thought of when I painted this. The oceanside was hazy and the colors of the sky and clouds where many subtle layers. I can't put in words how good it felt to get my paints back out. Thanks to everyone's well wishes on the new baby!
