The white sands of Clearwater beach were actually darker than the sky at dusk. During the day the sand is much brighter than the sky.

I was just in Clearwater last week for my sister's wedding. My husband and I had lunch at Frenchy's and enjoyed some beach time. Of course I took many pictures with my phone to inspire future paintings.
