"Driving Rain" Cars Full Moon Rain Dusk Nocturn daily oil painting

sold

"Driving Rain" 6"x6" oil on primed masonite panel. I love how this time of evening combined with the rain makes the colors dark and intense. I did a very similar painting of this area in a bit lighter values (posted Jan 13, '08)

  3. Hi Heidi!

I saw a thumbnail on the Daily Painter page and saw that you were from Ft. Wayne (I lived there for 5years in my youth). I came to your blog and saw that I REALLY like your work! It made me want to go paint! So I am off to my studio. Thanks for the nudge.

  4. Love this one. It really looks wet, and like a time when I wouldn't want to be driving! 8>))
I've been watching that gorgeous full moon too.
I wondered if you know about the worldwide Sketch Crawl that is going to be held Saturday March 29th. It sounds like such a neat idea! Go to http://www.sketchcrawl.com for more information. I'm going to do it for my area. I just registered a couple of days ago. I'm just trying to let other artists know about it.
No cost. Anyone can do it, for a short time, like 20 minutes or all day, solo or as a group. Just spend time sketching anything and everything around you that day, "crawl" through different places if you like. You can post your sketches on their site, your own, etc.
I thought it might be a way, too, to get a little publicity for our local artists, besides being fun, and gathering some more ideas.
